“Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales full movie”, Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales releases to cinemas on May 26. What do you think this franchise needs to do to get back on solid ground? Sound off in the comments section below.
Expected to attend the shindig are stars Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites, directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg and producer Jerry Bruckheimer. The screening for the fantasy action film will take place in the Walt Disney Grand Theatre at Disneytown.
Dead Men Tell No Tales is the fifth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and follows Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) as he searches to find the Trident of Poseidon, while Captain Salazar (Bardem) focuses on eliminating as many pirates as possible.
The movie was screened last month at CinemaCon, where it received generally positive reviews. The previous film, Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, grossed over $1 billion globally.
Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew of miscreants are set to once again plunder the box office. The fifth installment in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead men Tell No Tales, is ready to make port with a $90 million debut. The franchise has always been a tough competitor at the box office with two of the films, 2006’s Dead Man’s Chest, and 2011’s On Stranger Tides, pulling in over $1 billion worldwide each. Dead Man’s Chest, had an opening weekend of $135 million, with the third film, 2007’s At World’s End, opening to $114 million. Does the $90 million dollar estimate for Dead Men Tell No Tales spell doom for its chances to hit exceed a billion dollars? Though it may seem low in comparison to what the earlier blockbusters in the franchise raked in, it shouldn’t worry fans or the studio. Excluding the first film in the series, Curse of the Black Pearl, On Stranger Tides had the lowest opening weekend of any film in the franchise, and still managed to cross the billion-dollar.
#4 A great release date: May 25, 2017
Dead Men Tell No Tales has an estimated budget of $320 million, and assuming that is a legitimate figure, the film would then need to hit at least $640 million to be considered profitable. An opening of $90 million could bring it well past that. Moviegoers that experience Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales in IMAX will be in for a special visual treat! Only in IMAX will the entire film be specially formatted and presented in an expanded 1.9:1 aspect ratio. This means that the movie will fill more of the screen, and fans will see 26% more of the image in IMAX than standard theaters.
Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.
The latest film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, was filmed almost entirely in studio, he said. Ironically, Rush said the two directors, Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning, had been hired in part because of their abilities to make films at sea.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales also stars Kevin R. McNally as Joshamee Gibbs, Golshifteh Farahani as the sea-witch Shansa, David Wenham as Scarfield, Stephen Graham as Scrum, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, and Geoffrey Rush as Captain Hector Barbossa.
Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg are directing Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales with Jerry Bruckheimer producing. The executive producers are Mike Stenson, Chad Oman, Joe Caracciolo, Jr., Terry Rossio and Brigham Taylor. The story is by Jeff Nathanson and Terry Rossio, and Jeff Nathanson wrote the screenplay. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales drops anchor in U.S. theaters on May 26, 2017.
Veteran Pirates actor Geoffrey Rush, one of only three mainstays throughout the franchise (excluding Pablo the monkey), says filming used to be an adventure. Just getting to set was a mission in itself, he recalls.
